About US

Our Mission

We seek to create a space that celebrates our love of petanque with all our members and visitors.  We seek to help each other grow as players. We seek to help expand our sport's popularity by sharing it.  We seek to engender community and inclusiveness, as a backdrop to the game.  We welcome all who come to play.

What we do

We play casual games Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday at the Lamorinda Pétanque Club located 480 St  Marys Road, Lafayette, California. We usually start at 1 pm on Tuesday and Thursday. We play all day Sunday and organize a Sunday Club Mix Hours 2-4 pm as a chance to meet everybody.

Once a month we organize a friendly intraclub tournament called Funday,  It is played on regulation lanes, consisting of three 55-minute timed games using the Swiss Hotel System and standard FPUSA rules. The top two teams play a final game. To ensure an even number of teams and that everyone plays, some teams may need to be triplettes, others doublettes. Time and dates are in the Lamorinda calendar

We hold regular shooting/pointing/strategy clinics, details are in the Lamorinda calendar.

Superseding the above regular activities, the 21 lanes of the playing field  are reserved for regional and national tournaments  that are listed in the Lamorinda Calendar  and the Northern California Calendar .
